Ujamaa is a small assisted living home in Anna, Texas, where residents get personal care, home-cooked meals, and caregivers who are on site around the clock. Few residents, familiar faces, and a real home instead of a hallway.
Why families choose Ujamaa
Safe. Reliable. Home.
Ujamaa is a Swahili word for familyhood: the idea that we are responsible for one another. That is how the home runs, for residents, families, and staff alike.
Personalized support
Exceptional service in everything we do: medication support, meal preparation, personal care, and more, shaped around each resident's routine and preferences.
Expert care
Experienced caregivers provide compassionate care with professionalism, dignity, and expertise, every single day.
Safety first
Safety is our highest priority: a secure environment, attentive staff, proactive protocols, and around-the-clock care.

World-class services, right at home.
Everything a resident needs to live well is handled in-house by people they know by name. Care plans are written with the family at move-in and reviewed as needs change.

Is Ujamaa the right fit?
Who thrives here.
A small home is the right answer for many seniors and the wrong one for a few. We would rather tell you up front.
Ujamaa is a good fit for
- Seniors who need help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, meals, or medications
- Adults who are no longer safe living alone, or whose family caregiver needs relief
- Military veterans who deserve dignified, attentive care in a calm home setting
- Adults with physical disabilities who need daily personal care and mobility support
- Those who prefer a quiet home with a few housemates over a large facility
- Anyone who wants consistent caregivers who know their habits and history
- Those needing a short-term or respite stay after a hospitalization or while family travels
We will refer you elsewhere if your loved one
- Needs continuous skilled nursing or hospital-level medical care
- Requires a secured memory-care unit for wandering risk
- Needs care beyond what our home is licensed to provide
If we are not the right place, we will help you find one that is.

Questions families ask
Before you visit.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the room and the level of care needed. Call 469-558-4317 for current rates; we will give you a clear monthly figure with no surprise add-ons.
Can we tour the home?
Yes, and we encourage it. Tell us when you are available and we will coordinate a time to show you the home in Anna, meet the caregivers, and answer questions in person.
Can residents keep their own doctor?
Yes. We coordinate with your loved one's physicians, pharmacy, and any home health or therapy providers, and we can help arrange transportation to appointments.
What about visiting?
Family and friends are welcome. We will share our visiting guidelines at your tour so you know what to expect.
Do you offer short-term or respite stays?
Yes, when a room is available. Respite stays are ideal after a hospitalization or when a family caregiver needs a break.
How do you handle medications?
Caregivers provide medication support and reminders according to each resident's physician orders, and keep a record the family can review.
Do you serve military veterans?
Yes. We welcome veterans and understand the unique needs that come with a lifetime of service. We are happy to discuss how we can support your veteran and coordinate with any VA benefits or providers.
